Trinity Motors Client Profile Trinity Motors was founded 44 years ago by its current chariman, Bob Woodward. They are one of the few truly independent local family owned businesses left in the motor trade. Trinity are located in Hinckley in Leicestershire 13 miles from the center of Coventry with a drive time of 28 mins, and 15 miles from the center of Leicester with a drive time of 30 mins. They operate 3 Franchises, Hyundai, Land Rover and Mazda. The group company also includes PTP (Power Train Products), PTP started life in the early 1990’s as Universal Vehicle Contracts Ltd, providing a logistical service to Rover Group’s Power Train Division. In 1995 UVC Ltd signed an exclusive contract to supply existing Rover Group OE customers, and to develop this business both in the UK and overseas with power train major units, engines, transmissions, gearboxes, axles and associated components, materials and fitting kits. Power Train Projects – or PTP as we are now known, was born. Website Overview The website replaced their existing website which was in need of an overhaul. Used cars were split across 3 different sites and these needed to be consolidated into 1 main used car website which covered all marques. The new website has 4 seperate areas, 'General' and then 3 specific to the franchises, Mazda, Land Rover and Hyundai. This was devised so that any page which was showing information specific to one franchise, wouldn't show the logos or information of another. If you were to go onto the Land Rover section for example, you will be shown information on Land Rover and the range of cars. The news down the left is limited to Land Rover news and the header is changed slightly to show only the Land Rover vehicles and the Land Rover logo. When Trinity add new pages through the in-built administration website, they can specific which area of the site the new page comes under & the website will then tailor the appearance to suit. The website also includes the Latest News module, enabling them to update the news articles themselves at any time through the online administration system. This also includes the eCarsUK network feed, which means that any news appropriate to their franchises is automatically added by UK Websystems. This enables their website to have regular news updates shown on the site without them having to do anything themselves, reducing the overhead of updating the website. The used car system is powered by our own bespoke solution, eCarsUK. eCarsUK is a unique system undergoing final development and will be launched shortly. For Trinity Motors it enables them to have in depth information on the cars the Franchises ranges, this data being updated by UK Websystems as new models are added or updated. This once again, reduces the overhead of having detailed information on their website, as UK websystems updates this informaiton in the eCarsUK system and it automatically updates through the eCarsUK network. The list of used cars is sourced directly from the system they currently upload to, Autolocate. A feed is taken every morning and their website then updates the list of cars according to the data in the Autolocate Feed. Images are also taken from this feed, in addition to images they upload themselves. Uploading a photo into the eCarsUK system is as simple as emailing it to a specific email address! The system then matches it to the car in the system automatically, thus reducing the hours of time of resizing images and uploading them one by one to the old website, the new system allows them to update the site in minutes, rather than hours. Although the data is sourced from Autolocate, the administration website also allows them access to the vehicle data and manually update the information.
