UK Websystems is recruiting
Due to continued growth, UK Websystems is looking for a PHP / mySQL developer
to join the team. Ideally suited to a graduate, the position will involve working
on a wide variety of projects for our Clients and maintaining existing websites.
Commercial experience is desired, but not required as long as you can demostrate
your PHP skills. Exposure to PHP 4 or 5 is required however as is a firm understanding
of Object Orientated Programming. Knowledge of Javascript & hand coding of
HTML is also required. AJAX experience would be an advantage, although training
can be given on this.
Home working is available, although the position will be mainly office based in Walsall. Please note, you must be a UK Resident to apply. If you are interested, please send your CV to steve@ukwebsystems.com. UK Websystems Wins Award!
Reprinted from the Midlands Business Today paper:
Congratulations to UK Websystems on winning the prestigious 2005 Annual Award for E Business Solutions. Formed only two years ago, the company has gone from strength to strength, gaining high profile clients along the way. The Walsall based business has been responsible for the design and production of websites that span many industries and applications. Theses have ranged from simple promotional sites, through to high specification, fully featured e-commerce solutions. More recently, UK Websystems has signed an agreement with a major international automotive supplier, which will see the company’s E-Commerce technology deployed on a global scale. First Class Online Presence “Its great to get recognized for the
services we provide and the effort we put into delivering exactly what our
clients want – a first class online presence”, said Steve Childs, CEO of UK
Websystems.
‘’We have always offered much more
than a simple, static website. Through an easy to use, yet fully featured
content management system, UK Websystems’ clients can take control of their
online presence, saving them time, money and hassle. Quite simply, when a UK
Websystems’ client needs to update their website, they can do it immediately
from any internet enabled PC 24 hours a day, seven days a
week.’’
‘’This approach differs from that
employed by many other web developers, who deny clients access to such
solutions. The result is a sub-optimal and unnecessarily expensive online
presence.’’
Based in Walsall, but servicing a diverse
and demanding customer base throughout the Midlands and across the
UK, Steve and his team
provide a comprehensive range of services, including:
Website Design
Working from even the briefest
specifications, the company has a proven track record in producing high quality,
affordable designs. Unlike some other web developers, UK Websystems does not
offer ‘off the shelf’ designs. Instead they produce bespoke, company specific
websites. As Steve is quick to point out ‘Your company is unique, so why isn’t
your website?’
Website Production
This can be undertaken either to
your specification or to a standard devised by UK Websystems. To ensure that the
resulting site is ‘futureproof’, only industry standard tools are used e.g.
Dreamweaver; Adobe Photoshop; PHP Scripting, and, mySQL search
databases.
Content Management UK Websystems do not produce static
sites. Instead all their sites are dynamic. This allows clients to update your
website as and when you want and at no extra cost.
E Commerce Solutions
Already deployed by UK Websystems on
behalf of a wide range of clients, within a number of distinct industry sectors.
Clients include car dealerships, estate agencies, art galleries and more
recently, a major international automotive components supplier. From a simple
shop to a massive online store selling thousands of items from many
manufacturers, the software can be configured to meet client specific
requirements.
Website Hosting UK Websystems servers are the
reliable, secure, fast and sensible choice for web hosting. All the servers are
situated in secure, state of the art data centres in
London. Whilst many competitors use servers based in
the USA, UK Websystems has
rejected this approach for their clients.
‘Sure a server in
North
America may be fractionally cheaper.’
explains Steve. ‘However, it will also be slower and less responsive than a
server based here in the UK. At UK Websystems, we
consciously strive to offer customers the ‘best value’ solution and we’re not
in
the business of cutting corners to save a few quid each
month.’
MGs On Track Get Revved Up!MGs On Track has come along with since its origins in 2003. Its now part of the
MG Car Club and has grown from a hand ful of events in 2004 to almost 12 in 2005.
Their new website
will allow them to accept online bookings from customers using their credit or
debit cards, it'll maintain lists of attendees for track days and remove a lot
of the behind-the-scenes work co-ordinating payments & attendee lists. Scheduled
for a launch in March 2005, it will provide MGs On Track with a website that will
be miles ahead of their current website and most of the other track day organisers. Castle Homes Get a New e-home!Similar to MGs On Track, Castle Homes were a start up company in Jan 2004, from
going from a handful of properties early on to their current list of over 50.
This however did expose a weakness in their first website, as it wasn't powered
by a database, so all the houses had to be edited on one large page. Not a problem
with the in-built website admin tools provided by UK Websystems, it was time consuming
however. Their new website now means that the Girls have more time to be selling
houses and giving valuations as its completely database powered. The website has
a completely new back-end (the technology that runs the website behind-the-scenes)
which allows them to update their propertly lists online at any time. If they
want to add a new property at 2am, they can do just that.
We also added a very powerful, yet easy to use search facility based around our
postcode distance technology. As each prooperty has a postcode entered against
it, the visitor to the website can search for properties within a selectable radius
of a town. The website uses the postcode of the town & the postcode of the
property to calculate the distance between the two. Sounds complicated! But with
the Technology developed by UK Websystems, its super quick and searches are typically
returned in a matter of milliseconds.
The technology developed for the new Castle Homes website is already attracting
interest from other estate and letting agencies, such is its power, flexibility
and ease of use.
EyeCandyGallery Chooses UK websystemsEyeCandy Gallery is a new company from EyeCandy Shop, an existing UK Websystems
client. The shop is built on the powerful new UK Websystems online shop software,
but in a demonstration of the software's flexibility the category based display
as used in The Very Nice Company's site has been replaced with a gallery view.
Thanks to the cutting edge design methods employed by UK Websystems, this transformation
took just under 2 weeks, which included adding all the pictures. With UK Websystems
again using cutting edge technology, the process of adding new pictures to the
online shop has been automated to a large degree, reducing the need for only 3
images per picture.

The Very Nice Company Website ExpandsThe Very Nice Company, based in Devon recently launched phase two of their website.
This website features a new online shop, written completely in house at UK Websystems
and is the first site to feature our powerful new eCommerce Software. Following
the success of their first website, The Very Nice Company wanted to expand the
range of products they offered and also took the opportunity to chose a new layout
and colour scheme. The new online shop features full order management, status
updates by email, comprehensive product options management, price banding, multiple
currencies and online payment clearance to name but a few. The shop has been designed
to be as flexible as possible, as demonstrated by the EyeCandy website which uses
the same online shop software. The Very Nice company is also conducting a comprehensive
PayPerClick advertising campaign with the major search engines which is being
devised and managed by UK Websystems. This ties into the affiliate management
features of the online shop to enhance the management of the campaigns effectiveness
on a keyword by keyword basis.
TWOC steals a lead with UK WebsystemsTwoc.co.uk is a website aimed at combating the sale of stolen cars by encouraging
people to report thier car's details with the website should it be stolen. They
want to try to give the general public another way to check if that vehicle they
wish to purchase, is a stolen one or not. Its another check, another way to stop
you
making a very costly mistake. In the eyes of the law, if you purchase a stolen
vehicle, there is very little that can be done for you in financial consideration.
The project was one of the largest taken on by UK Websystems to date but will
be supassed in a couple of months by projects currently under development. It
involved the creation from scratch of the website and provided the basis for the
new UK Websystems Content Managment System which will be implemented into future
websites. Added onto this are various modules, such as the Newsletter module.
This allows TWOC to create newsletters to send to their member based. The newsletters
are HTML and are created using the same HTML editor that is used in the Content
Managment System.
The other features of the administration website all help to provide a very low
maintence website and one that can easily be updated by the operator within minutes,
be it sending a news letter, approving the latest stolen reports, editing the
automated emails that get sent to members when they perform certain actions on
the website orif the operator wants to add a new news item. Everything is controlled
from one place, the adminsitration website.

& develop their website. Completed on a tight schedule, the website went live
on the 23rd of July, just a little over 2 weeks from the time the order was placed.
The website includes the standard UK Websystems Content Management system and
also a gallery enabling people to have a look at what goes on at the skatepark
and also allows them to check it out before they visit.

quality photograph prints, printed onto canvas or perspex. We've seen the products
they sell and its simply stunning, photos of them simply don't do them justice.
