Website production can be either from your specification or one that we draw up together, either way, we use industry standard tools such as Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro and technologies such as the PHP scripting language, the hugely popular, powerful and stable database engine, mySQL and the industry standard Apache Webserver all running on the best webserver platform - Linux. However, having the best technology and tools to use is no use if the craftsmen don't know how to use them! Steve, the wiz in the programming department has nearly 10 years experience in the computer software industry and nearly as many of Internet development. Utilitising his background in software development with the art department's design skills means that we can design, develop and produce anything that you could desire for your website!

How do you change a design into a website? - Well, if we told you that, we'd have to kill you!!! - Seriously, as with the majority of website development companies the first stage is to create the layout in Adobe Photoshop. Once both parties are happy with the graphical look of the site, it's then handed over to Steve who chops up the graphic into seperate files and converts the graphic image into a website layout, while carefully optimising the resulting graphics for load time vs quality. It is where you have the ability to update your site as and when you want. Static sites don't allow you to do this, with a static site you would need to ask the design company to make any changes, which are normally chargeable. With all our sites, you can update your site at any time and no extra cost!

It was developed with the motor trade in mind and can cope with any number of scenarios from single franchise to a multi-franchise, multi-location dealer group to a portal, multi-dealer, multi-franchise setup. You can have as many cars on the database as you want (although we do offer a cheaper, limited number version), can add a number of photos and can list comprehensive features related to each vehicle. People who search for a vehicle can save that search and receive emailed updates when new cars are added that match the search saved.

For example, if someone comes on to your site, searches for a Red MG ZR and doesn't find one or doesn't like the ones they see, they can subscribe to that search and will automatically be emailed when you add a Red MG ZR to your stock.

The servers are all located in state of the art data centers in London, with multiple redunant, hi speed connections to the UK's internet back bone, ensuring that should one connection go down, there will be others to take over and keep your website up. We don't make a claim as to uptime, basically as it would be pointless to do so. Don't pay attention to people who claim 99.9% uptime, if you read the small print, more times than not, they specifically exclude connectivy problems that are outside their control! What we do say is the server obviously will go down from time to time for upgrades and maintenance. This however might be twice a year, if that, all the rest of the time its up and running. Running on Linux makes it ultra reliable.

We also offer full access to your webserver statistics on a weekly and monthly basis. From these we provide you with details covering where your visitors are coming from, which pages are being viewed the most, and comprehensive hits and visitor information.

Search Engine Submission

Search engines are a very important part of having a website. Certainly we wouldn't suggest that you rely on your position with search engine results for your business, but they can direct a sizeable amount of traffic onto your site. We will submit your website once as part of our design & production package, but we really suggest you opt for our monthly refresh option, where we will resubmit your website to the search engines every month and provide you with a report each month for each URL submitted. Also we don't just submit your home page and 'hope for the best', we submit many URLs for each website.

Secure eMail Facilites

We would really recommend this option if you are running an online shop, or emailing highly confidential information. Similar in operation to secure websites (where you get the padlock in the browser status bar), the communication between the email server and your PC is secure - that is to say, the emails you download are encrypted on the server before transmission to your computer, so anyone listening in to the communication between the server and your computer will just see encrypted junk and not credit card numbers or whatever else you have been sent.

If you are running an online shop on our server, its a perfect way to get credit card details transfered from your customers to your computer as their details are encrypted as they type them in to the browser and send them to the website. The details are then encyrpted again from the website to your computer.

It is also possible to encrypt emails on your email client and send them encrypted, keeping emails encrypted all the way till they reach the other recipient(s). We can advise on how to do this.
